I've had this virus/malware whatever you need to call it for over 5 months. I've used smitfraudfix and although its worked for 3 or 4 weeks the virus seems to reappear. I have just tried http://virusinfo.prevx.com/pxparall.asp?... (prevx) and it seems to work. Time will tell but unless I've been dupped into installing an exe which will cause far worse damage (as this virus doesnt seem to do anything except slow the pc, change the browser, bassically annoy) its seems worth a try.
I dont normally join in forums but i've been annoyed by this sucker for so long I thought i'd give a bit back to the community.
Good luck, hope this solves it, Adware Full version does NOT fix it, fingers crossed this will do.
Damm me not keeeping those resotre disks for the laptop!!!!

Spyware soldier is an application that installs itself on your computer without your permission, and then proceeds to scare you into registering it with fake spyware threats. Do not register this program. Instead, go to www.lavasoft.de and install Ad-aware, and run a scan. Hopefully it will be detected and deleted. If not, contact me and I'll find some more detailed instructions.

You've got spyware. Actually what they offer to solve is exactly the problem they cause. Go to lavasoft and download and install Ad-aware. Update the definitions file and perform a full system scan. That should solve your pest problem.

I understand your problem and I can tell you it has everthing to do with e-mail and maybe your internet porvider. I use outlook express plus I also can get my e-mail thru my internet provider ( comcast ) I found that if I change my out going mail (SMTP) port to 587 it changes in and out going. I have not had any problems. This is the second time this has happened to me. Check with your provider and see if they have any security warnings. I hope this helps.

It is spyware itself. Download :
Spybot Search and Destroy from google, and run it, also download avast or avg antivirus, and run them. That should take care of it.

Don't you use the pop-up protection on the Yahoo toolbar?
It is on the toolbar, to the left of Norton's antispyware.
click the down arrow on the button
click "enable"
If this doesn't stop it, click the same down arrow and choose "why am I still getting pop-ups"? Then follow the instructions.
