it's for 8th grade football and i'm gonna be a wide reciver or myabe a cornerback, but mainly a wide reciver.

I'd go with the cup... it'll be annoying when you're trying to run, but get hit down there once without it and you'll be very sorry, and if you don't wear one you will get hit there.

Depends on how serious you are about playing football. A cup will slow you down. Sure you'll get tagged every once in a while, but pain fades.

Well, you being a kid I would say "yes". And as you get older and maybe play in highschool and gain a little more experience you may want to do away with it. Good luck
