England. While German is a very interesting language (I enjoy it myself), English is much more practical, as most business opportunities benefit from fluency. Might I also suggest the consideration of America and American English for your studies abroad (unless you are from America already, of course).
On the world theater, England is far more powerful. On the cultural front, England is much more active and diverse.
On the soccer stage, they are close rivals, but Germany seems to have a slight edge.
In the lifestyle circles, England's cost of living and opportunity for affluence beats Germany hands down.
On the diversity arena, England is far more diverse than Germany, and foreigners are much more accepted in England also.

All-in-all, the better experience would be England, no question about it, but there are a few areas where Germany holds a monopoly: soccer, the Black Forest, Porsche, Coo-coo clocks, and a very effective police force.

Germany has a very different attitude towards higher education than the UK - England might be a more fun place to do a degree, people are typically full-time students, and although most work, they are still students first and foremost. Germans usually seem to take longer to complete their studies, study part-time and are generally a bit less involved in university life. A degree from a UK university will probably also hold more weight in general in the global market place than a German one will, but that depends on how good the university you attend is too. Just in terms of quality of life though, I'd prefer to be in Germany than England, but then I've lived in England for most of my life, and they do say that the grass is always greener on the other side! ;)

Hi :-) ! I think it has greatly to do with what you would like to study and what diplomas are recognised resp. what universities have got a better reputation in your home country. For Germans in Germany, you very often need to have the "numerus clausus" to be accepted at the Uni... also maybe some exams first or interviews before you get accepted. I think it is much easier in the UK... but, well, I think it is much more expensive as well... all depending where you come from. I would study in England... on the other hand, to know German better is a bog advantage! I would choose depending on the domain I would like to study and, referring to that, the reputation of the Uni. Best of luck :-) !!!

I have studied in Germany and taught at university level in England and Germany. My opinion: The only reasons to study in Germany are financial (no tuition fee in Germany) and an interest in the language and culture. In all other regards, England is far, far better.

Learn English and go to England...!A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt
