Germany has a very different attitude towards higher education than the UK - England might be a more fun place to do a degree, people are typically full-time students, and although most work, they are still students first and foremost.
Germans usually seem to take longer to complete their studies, study part-time and are generally a bit less involved in university life. A degree from a UK university will probably also hold more weight in general in the global market place than a German one will, but that depends on how good the university you attend is too.

Just in terms of quality of life though, I'd prefer to be in Germany than England, but then I've lived in England for most of my life, and they do say that the grass is always greener on the other side! ;)

I'd say that Germany is much better, I've never been in England and I have studied German when I was to college; as you can read, English is not my "Muttersprache" nieder. It depend where are you living now? I don't know which one of these 2 countries is the much expensive to live in, but I would choose Germany... I love Germany! I've been there only once. It's such a nice place!

I've done both, and preferred Germany. It's more "adult" than English university, in that the students are a lot more mature for their ages. The uni courses are more demanding in Germany too, and tuition fees are MUCH cheaper. However, would recommend that you pick a small German Uni (up to 5000 students), not one of the huge ones.

I was in Germany for some 6 years . I found them very arrogant, in England you can find different areas that are also withdrawn from openess, but if you make the effort to meet them and they get to know you then you are in, the life style, what sort of life style do you want , if it is aland of graft go to Germany if you want to be on the grant system England

In England all students do is get themselves thousands into debt by getting drunk instead of studying and i think Germany would not accept the usual retarded behaviour we've come to expect from students in Britain so if you are genuinely looking to improve your future potential i would look to Germany .

Depends on what you want to study. The UK is much more expensive than Germany.
