I absolutely LOVE everything (e.g. the idea, the camaraderie, the family time, the food, the time of the year, the promise of a New Year, .....) about the Thanksgiving holiday, so let me be the absolute first one this year (precipitated as it maybe) to say to all of you: HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING.

I love Thanksgiving also - for pretty much all the same reasons that you mentioned. The offical kick off to the holiday season for me. I also like the fact the the whole family can get together & have a relaxing time without the stress that Christmas & whole gift thing can bring.

You people are so full of it... you all know your birthday is the best "holiday"... quit trying to get some lifetime achievement award or some crap and just admit it... Thanksgiving??? No, you mean the day AFTER Thanksgiving, the sales. These are the days of being politically correct and the divide of church and state keeps widening... nobody even goes to church and if they do it's only to confess what they did wrong in the past 6 days before their last church sermon (I mean confessional)... people are too fake and hypocritical these days to worry about which holiday they like most anyways... if they say which one they're only trying to get attention or fit in to what everyone else says.

OK I'm done, Happy Thanksgiving too.

Thanks for the wishes. I too love the holiday, it's like you said, the family time etc. The smells of the turkey and gravy, the pumpkin pies and breads. The whole thing is like a big present under the tree just waiting to open.
This year I have moved 2100 miles from my closest family members but still have a few here so I am looking forward to the new celebrations here.
Happy Turkey day to you too.
