Sorry, but I have more questions than answers regarding this.

A) What kind of newspaper are you reading?
B) Where did they get THEIR research/resources from?
C) Was this a double blind study?
D) Who performed the research (was it a political organization trying to promote it's cause?)
E) What other causes associated with day care could be affecting this outcome? (single parent homes, low income, societal norms)
F) What kinds of mental problems? (schizophrenia, mild depression, bi-polar, seasonal affective disorder) "mental problems" is really too much of a generalization for me.

The mental problems are not just because they are in day care centre but due to the attitude of the society as a whole. Now a days children are born to parents who are above 30 years of age and by this time they succumb to all the vice like smoking , drinking and changing sex partners and after all this nonsense is over they get married and beget children. Further the food we eat is artificial, the milk we drink is artificial, the fresh food eating is vanishing and stored food eating has increased. The nature enjoying is lost and time spending on lot or artificial things like watching TV, getting lost on computers, craving for making more & more money , buying all the new things like cars, bungalows etc etc are all the root cause for the degeneration of the mankind in whole and we the elders who are slightly better off than our off spring worry about our children and their health. This is natural and this will go on for ever. I will not be surprised if the day comes when man would drink salt water and digest as if it is normal water like what the sea fish do today.

I would like to know where you came up with this theory and whether you have any statistics to back it up. This sounds like some chauvinistic urban legend with absolutely no basis. I have worked in the health field and research for twenty years and have never heard this. Children who are given proper attention and guidance from their parents for the amount of time they are together are perfectly well adjusted. There are many children who have been home for the formative part of their lives and turned into the likes of John Wayne Gacey and Jeffery Dahmer, so I guess this blows your theory all to hell.

No, it is not good for the individual nor society. What parents need to understand is children learn faster around older, more developed individuals, and slower around children their own age. Simply because children learn by mimicking. If they mimic the intelligent, they will become intelligent, but if they learn to mimic baby talk they will think they are becoming intelligent, but actually slowing their learning process.

Not true! Depends on what kind of day care and how the parents treat the children when they are with them. Children learn how to interact with others in day care. Just because a parent stays home with the kids doesn't always make it better. I am all for parents who stay home to raise their children if at all possible, but not everyone can do that.

I don't believe in day care. Even the fancy ones. I know some people have no choice but to put their children in day care but no matter how you dress it up day care is just babysitting. Parents should raise their own children (mom or dad) or have another family member help out. Don't have children if you can't take care of them.

How can that be good to the society!
A child needs the company of both the parents, and if they don't get that, it more likely that they develop a negative attitude towards them!!!

Moreover a child learns by imitation!!! At such places they find only children of their own age, so whom can they imitate?

Thus it is advisable that the child are allowed to spend more time with their family members.

Before I answer to this, I'd like to know your sources.

I can tell you that in my country research has shown that children in daycare are actually more adjusted than children who are not. Among other things, they have more social skills. However, this only applies to children that are in daycare 4 days a week or less. So based on those figures I'd say it's no problem unless you put them in daycare all the time.

Edit: lol, I've received two thumbs down on my answer! That's so funny! Obviously I have received thumbs down before on other answers I've given, but this usually happens when I have an outspoken opinion. How can you give a thumbs down when I am mainly referring to research? I haven't even given an opinion yet (and you might be surprised about what I actually think about this subject).

wisdom, endurance and information will artwork wonders. each time I take my toddlers out someplace, I assume them to act and to bear in mind their manners and be courteous to absolutely everyone they meet. maximum absolutely everyone seems to be superb, even though it might additionally be wonderful while certainly one of my sons steps aside to permit a grown-up wade via a doorway first, that the guy remembers their manners as properly and not handle my toddlers as being invisible. I often see human beings charging around, bumping into my youngsters as though they're invisible and have no emotions, and specifically circumstances my toddlers are harm, however the guy by no potential apologises. what form of occasion are grown-united statesexhibiting toddlers, while they could't return courtesy? With public coaching, I do appreciate the job that instructors do, yet I even have reported alot of anger and yelling from some instructors, they do replace into pissed off and that i think that there must be greater instructor's aids obtainable to assist ease the load. I help out in my son's college room. the respond guy, while toddlers improve as much as replace into adults, they are going to be those paying the taxes for the two our era and the subsequent, so all toddlers must be no longer in basic terms taught, yet respected as our destiny.

If that is true, then there are probably just as many as likely to have mental problems if they are at home all day every day (except when in school.) Some parents have problems...and they pass it on...or create more.
