No one knows, and we don't know until we die. But I believe in Heavan and I believe I will see my relatives that have gone before me.

So you get confused if you really dont believe in religion, are you?. By asking the question here, do you realize that you "believe" in some way that you may get the right answer? If somebody tells you "yes, there is life after death", do you believe him? Why? If , eg. I tell you " yes, i have these so and so experience" do you belive me?
To tell you the truth of what I believe, there is no physical evidence of any "spirit" or "ghost" whatsoever. I believe in the existence of spirit and life after death through a rational thinking, not observation. Then, spirit is non-physical being, it is hard to think of and discuss something (spirit and the like) that is not belong to our physical nature, as your question if it can travel. If spirit may travel it should be in different kind of traveling. How differ? No one really know.

I've seen enough to firmly believe there is more to our world than what we can at first see. Can I prove to you that ghosts exist? No. I can tell you they do. You can choose to believe me or not. So why can one person see ghosts and not another? Not sure. Perhaps they're not open enough to it. But I've tried you say. Again, I don't know. Someone mentioned the brain waves slow down more for some people, like when they meditate, and this opens them up to things. Still don't know.
But it still begs the question: how does a dog, or cat, who has been locked accidentally in a crate get driven hundreds of miles from home and when it gets loose finds it's way back again? I could list a slew of these but you know a bunch yourself. How do things like this happen if there isn't more to life than what we perceive?
I'd just be on the safe side and do some good stuff, man.

There is a book that will tell you a great deal about it. The book is Oahspe. It says there are (about) 4 false religions. It will tell you much about life after death. Spirits cannot travel anywhere without restriction. Everything in the heavens is governed, planned, logical. There IS a Creator. I've seen spirits yes. Good and bad deeds count for everything after death yes.

If you do not believe in religion, then you have every right to be confused, as this is how most of the world determines what they believe about the things of which you ask.
For those of us who are Christians, or Christ-followers, we are sure of an afterlife. As we believe in the sovereign Word of our Lord, we know He gave us very specific information about what lies beyond this realm.
One thing troubles me about the questions you are asking. If you have no belief system to guide you, and you do not know the people who are responding to your questions, how do you know what answers are correct?
Most Christians believe that the Bible teaches us that there are spirits which walk among us. Unlike unbelievers, however, we don't believe it is Uncle Sam or Aunt Betty. God says that when we leave our earthly bodies, we 'enter into sleep' until Christ's return. God also says that spirits,or 'demons' do dwell among us. Their basic job is to confound us, trick us, and set us up to be lied to, as these spirits are here doing satan's bidding; that is to trick people into believing lies, i.e. "our loved ones dwell in the ether all around us & we can reach out to them whenever we want'. And these people say what Christians believe is superstitious nonsense?
Anyway, if you don't believe in religion, why would you believe in a heaven or hell that required good or bad deeds to get in? Perhaps you might want to think all this through a bit more before you decide what you do or don't believe. I am not making fun. I just think you are young, and have not had a chance to look at all this objectively or experientially yet.
Good luck on your journey of discovery. Take it from someone who has been on the road for many decades, it's a heck of a ride, and one well worth taking.
I'll remember you in my prayers, that you receive the answers you need.
God speed!

Yes there is life after death. And yes, I have "experienced", but not actually "seen" a spirit. My father died in 1997 at the age of 97. Five years later, my mother died at the age of 97. The last night that she was alive, I was with her until about 1:30 a.m., when I decided I should go home for a while to change clothes, etc.. When I got out to my car and got into the drivers seat, my father's spirit was in there. He never spoke a word to me, but he rode the 15 miles home with me, and I know he was there. When I got to my house, he left me. I knew without a doubt that my mother was going to pass on, and sure enough, I was only home a short time when we had the call to come back right away. I know that my father was there to let me know that mom was ready to go to be with him. Then, the night of my mother's funeral, I couldn't sleep, so decided about 10:00 p.m. to go out and walk around the yard. No one else was outside at the time, as most of the neighors were alseep by now. As I was walking in the yard and looking at the stars, I suddenly heard my mother call my name. It startled me at first, but then I realized that she was telling me she was with dad and everything was o.k.. That was all that she said, just my name. It was very comforting. And even though I did not see either my Mom or my Dad, I could feel them, and I know that both times they were there with me. Their way of letting me know everything was going to be all right. So yes, I believe that spirits of our loved ones do visit us, even though they may not visible. You feel their presence and you know it is them. I believe that their spirits can be anywhere, it doesn't matter where you are, because they are spirits and can "travel" wherever we are. And as far as good or bad deeds go, you have to beleive in Jesus Christ and ask Him to forgive you, and He will. It is not a matter of religion, it is a matter of faith. All you need is faith in Jesus and you will be saved. And you will have a "spirit" body. Not like our body we have now. I hope this helps you.

Nobody really knows what happens after we leave this world, Harry Houdini spent his whole life debunking fraudulent psychics but he still believed in the afterlife. He promised that he would try his hardest to communicate with his wife, but never came through. It is common thought that their are two types of haunts the residual and the sentient. Ina residual haunt the spirit goes through the events leading up to his or her death over and over with no idea that any time has gone by. And a sentient haunt is a spirit that is totally aware that they are a ghost...Think Casper. Speaking from personal experience I have seen a spirit myself. I was 10 years old when it happened. A friend and i cut through a local cemetery as we were walking I felt that someone was watching us. I tried to shake it but it kept gnawing at me, as we were going to leave i looked behind me and saw a vaporous apparition staring at us from behind an angel statue. Ever since I have believed in the existence of ghosts. If you are interested you should watch "Ghost Hunters" Wednesdays at 9 P.M on Sci-Fi Channel.

You sound more than a bit confused to me, or do you mean that you believe in a god but don"t understand religion? What you are asking is best worked out by you reading everything and making up your own mind. Don't listen too much to others as they all have an axe to grind. Good luck.

there are two ways of thinking about it:
1 = philosophy (logic) = we are all a part of the nature.... just like everything else that dies trees, animals, etc. humen will die and we would just fade away.......... after death u shouldnt feel anything, sense anything, see anything, hear anything, nor go anywhere. your phisical living circulations such as brain activity or blood flow is stopped for ever. nothing happens.
2 = spiritually (religion) = saying there is god, heavon, hell, soul, all that. religions can explain life after death but its based on things that you'll never see in this life... there are lots of doubts.
its up to you how you want to think!
** if you like to follow your heart and want to have a meaningful existance its good to refer to religion explanations.
** if you are logical about life -- dont believe in what you dont see --- you only believe in things that makes sense -- and you want proof for everything --- i recommend the philosopher's view!
and its ok to believe a little bit of both. (i believe more in logic then religion.)
i hope this helped!

Logically, one can imagine life after death of the physical body, for we do realise that we are not the same as our physical body. And we should also be mature enough to know that it can't be much worse than the life we cling on to before death.
