With my 1st - I had it done at 38w4d on the 11th and had my daughter on the 14th (contractions started at 4:30am)
With this baby - I just had the membranes stripped this Wednesday the 25th and was also as far along as I was with my last pregnancy (38w4d).

This is day 2. They say you can go into labor within 24-72 hours. But your body and baby must be ready. If this one goes down like my last pregnancy, I'll be in labor sometime later today or tomarrow.

I had mine stripped at 7:30am and was put on a drop and my labour start from the stripping of membranes. That was my first pregnancy. This time I don't as I'm just 27 weeks. I hope I helped you out a bit. Good luck.

Unlike the others who answered your question I am not like them. I had my membranes stripped 3 times and it did not help me go into labor. Every woman is different and every child is different. I went 2 weeks over and had to be enduced. Good Luck!!

My OB scratched my membranes at around 3pm, and my water broke the next morning.

They don't strip your membranes until you're at the hospital and you're in labor. Usually stripping is done with inductions.
