Hi Sweetie,
I agree it is kind of scary but having said that you still have to face that fact that you are probably pregnant.
Unless you are on birth control, you did not say one way or the other in your post. However, if you have been making love and not using anything I would say that the odds are pretty good that you are pregnant. You should buy a home pregnancy test or call your doctor and see what she thinks you should do. Some doctors will not accept an at home test as proof and will want you to have a blood test anyway as they are virtually 100% accurate.
Listen tho honey, don't despair. You say you have an 8 month old but remember that it takes 9 months to have a baby so the baby that you have now will be about 16 months old when your new baby comes. That is not so scary, is it? I was breast feeding my son when I found out I was pregnant with my little girl and he was only 10 months old. I was scared at first but you know there is such a special bond between those two. They were inseperable when they were growing up, everyone thought that they were twins. Now that they are grown they are still so close and I am so happy that they have each other. I would not wish my baby girl away for anything in the world!
Have a pregnancy test, the blood test can detect pregnancy even before you miss your period so it will certainly be able to tell you now.
If you are pregnant you need to take really good care of yourself because of the demands that having a baby AND expecting another one will take a lot out of you. Get plenty of rest and eat right....now is not the time to think about dieting. When your baby takes a nap, you lie down and put your feet up. elevate them higher than your heart. You can do this sweetie, women do it all the time.
You asked if stress could make you miss your period. I am 53 years old and have done counseling for at least 20 years of my life and in that time I have NEVER known of a single woman that ever missed a period from stress. My beloved father had a major stroke and there were terrible family problems, my period started right on time. The old "stress can make you late" story in my opinion just does not hold up.
Take care of YOU and feel free to write to me if you need someone to talk to or if you need any more questions answered.
As I said you should call your OB/GYN because it is important that you start your prenatal vitamins and do all that you can to assure a healthy pregnancy both for you and your precious baby.
Love and Blessings!

Stress could b the cause, because its not uncommon to skip a period due to this. and looking after an 8month old would definitly cause that!
but 2bh, i think you'd be best taking a test just to be on the safe side, maybe even speak to your doctor for some advice because if your not pregnant it could be a hormonal imbalance or something else causing it. better to check and know than stress which can prolong the wait!
good luck!!
