no i.q tests can really measure intelligence. The most intelligent person may not have given any iq tests at all. The iq tests too are very unscientific. I think Einstein had the maximum iq but it was never recorded !

this is a fun quiz I found about who the most intelligent person in history may have been. I don't know where the missing percentages are though
Leonardo Da Vinci 25%
Albert Einstein 21%
Isaac Newton 14%
William Sidis 14%

Well in history I'd probaly pick Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci,
Isaac Newton or William Sidis.
If your thinking business Bill Gates. But yet.......I don't know at this point. Too many fields to choose from living and dead, history, business, science etc.
So I looked up the definition of intelligent and got possessing sound knowledge.
I'd say anyone who does the best they can in their chosen field of work.

For several years, many people thought that the most intelligent person alive was Stephen Hawking. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_hawking). He is certainly incredibly intelligent, and also very good at explaining his ideas to people of average intelligence.

Mensa measures such things, and you might peruse their web site. There's also a ememberhip list for Mensa here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Members_of_Mensa)

Intelligence is extremely difficult to measure and this question can only hope for a good guess. So my guess would be Stephen Hawking.

Albert Einstein by far. He's invented the most inventions [I believe], and has been rated a "genius" years ago. He has invented and/or thought of the fundementals of inventions still used today.
