According to this site thread:-

" happen to be a very big fan of meatloaf and know certain things that the few elite know. he only ever writes "higher grade poetry" for his songs, so when he wrote some "normal" love song, questions were raised. it turned out that he wanted to get married, but the girl set a condition upon the answer. he had to become a christian before she would become his bride.
in reply to the condition, this song was released"

In one of the songs verses, the lady sings something like 'i know the teritory, i've been around. It'll all turn to dust and all fall down. Sooner or later you'll be screwing around' and Meatloaf says 'i won't do that'. I think that's what me means....
Or maybe he's talking about cutting his hair.

I think he means that although he would do anything for love he is still to scared to take that extra step. In the video he is an ugly monster who falls for a beautiful young woman. He is desperate to take love to the next level but cant face himself to do it. She sings about all that she expects from him which he does except or says 'I could do that'. When she sings about all the nasty things that he could do to her he says 'I wont do that.' Its probably about confidence and commitment.

IYou know I've never really thought about it, but even after looking at the lyricks I'm really not sure (actually I think I'm more confused than before). He may have written this during one of his less lucid periods.

I find that it's best not to over analyse Meatloaf songs.

I think that's a private answer between Marvin Lee Aday and Jim Steinman...
Seriously though he's answering her question of if he'll screw her around, to which he answers "I won't do that"

I've always took it to mean the one thing you just cannot do sexually for anyone, no matter how much you love them. It applies to most of us except for porn stars.

He addressed this question on Howard Stern... It was a pretty convoluted answer and I don't really remember it.

before he sings that part, the woman he loves is singing about him maybe 'screwing her around' if they got it 2gether,and he replies saying that he'll do anything for love, but he won't do that, as in he won't cheat on her and play games. hope i've been of help. :-)
