Your sister may be depressed or have a huge void in her life. I had a rough time after a move and was very sad, was unable to cry or smile. She probably just needs to find something that fulfills her something that will bring back to where she wants to be. Talk to her and tell her you're there if she wants to talk, even if it's difficult.

This is almost certainly a condition known to eye specialists. On occasion the tear duct openings can become plugged with material that will prevent them from allowing tears to flow normally. The most common solution is pharmacological. I strongly suggest she go see her doctor or eye doctor if she has one.

A few possiblilities: plugged tear ducts (physical problem), fear of really crying (she might think it is a sign of weakness), also when you want to cry but are trying too hard, the tears don't come--tears come when it's genuine hurt (or from a really, really good actor who is thinking of geniunely painful experience)

I think all brothers think their sisters are ill in some ways. She may have tear duct blockage or even not have functioning tear ducts. You could always shut her fingers in the car door to verify, that would make me cry. JUST kidding.
