I prefer to design my own place and then higher a contractor to build it. I know, i cheated on your question, but hey, I got exactly what i wanted in the same amount of time both the architect and engineer i talked to said, but at half the price! Of course, it does help that my cousin is an engineer and helped with my blue prints. So I guess I really do pick engineer!

I am an engineer: The architect will design the house and the engineer will then take the design and make it buildable... ensuring that the design will not fall over!
