I prefer Pet Shop Boys, but a better choice would be the Style COuncil (My Ever Changing Moods)
HUman League isn't too bad, but they don;t have a wide range of hits (Mirror Man, Keep Feeling Fascination)
Depeche Mode, for some reason, really seemed to tick people off (Fly on the Windscreen)
New Order seems to fall between the cracks (Cries and Whispers)
You may also like Echo & the Bunnymen, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Talk Talk, The Smiths, Soft Cell, The Psychedelic Furs and The Cure

Mmm. Considering their influence in music I would give the gong to New Order just over Depeche Mode. Depeche Mode were probably more commercially successful.

Ask yourself!
how do i feel?
looking at individual terminology pet shop boys are about all sorts pride respect fun courage and some forms of political awareness.
New order i only really remember two song which were somehow influential yet their messages spoke the same message.
Blue monday and True faith
depeche mode were just a load of rubbish? could never understand what they were about.
Human league were about hopeless love or lost romance.
(not what i would listen to if i just got dumped)
now ask yourself the question how do i feel?
I personally like influental stuff like new order, the manic street preachers even some U2.
but i also like the stuff of the Pet shop boys too.

I know BLUE MONDAY is an absolute classic, and PSB were ok but went stupid, DONT YOU WANT ME BABY was overplayed to the point where it just does ones head in, besides the dark haired lass always looked too clever for me, so i have to say in my opinion DEPECHE MODE some brilliant songs that personally are up there for me, they have also had their troubles along the way
