I started ballet this year when I was 13 for the first time since I was six. When do you think I wil be ready to go onto pointe? Are there any suggestions on how to be a better ballet dancer so I can make it onto Pointe sooner?

Do exercises to develop the calves and ankles, you will need the strength to be on pointe. Also exercises for the core/ab muscles as these will help hold you up and balance you. Elevate, Elevate..

Like some people said, just because you are old enough does not mean you can go on pointe. You just started again, you need 3 years continuously to go onto pointe classes. You need strong ankles and good arches. But you don't get to decide when you go en pointe, that is all up to your teacher, and she knows best. Stretches for pointe that help the most in which you will see improvement very quickly are releves. Do this exercise everyday, and you will see great improvement. Good luck and when
you do get to pointe, have fun!

64 releves 1st position
64 releves 2nd position
64 releves right foot coupe
64 releves left foot coupe
64 releves right foot attitude
64 releves left foot attitude

64 might be a lot to start on, so start in smaller numbers and work your way up if you like.

You're old enough, but if you tried to do pointe now, or even within a year, you could seriously damage your muscles/tendons/joints/bones/ whatever else. As others have said, exercise you ankles, legs, and work on your balance. To be a "good" pointe dancer, you really need some good balance. Releve's are good to work on strenthening your muscles. I would say it will probably be at least 2 years before you can do pointe, maybe 3. Remember that it doesn't matter how good you are at ballet, it has to do with whether your legs are strong enough to handle it.

Hmm... I began ballet on my moment birthday, acquired my first pair of pointe sneakers for my 9th birthday. But I was once in a strict Russian-Vaganova software, so that is one of a kind. You are fourteen, your frame is structurally capable to head en pointe (such a lot lecturers suggest twelve). But, in case you've simplest been taking ballet for a yr or 2, pointe sneakers are out of the query. Your procedure isn't well adequate and your interior thighs aren't powerful adequate. I in no way went via Pre-Pointe. At the Conservatory, you wore tender sneakers till your ankles have been deemed powerful adequate to put on pointe sneakers. Everything was once Pre-Pointe, I feel. Whatever that magnificence involves, you will have to most often join now and if you're critical approximately dance and going en pointe, you will have to be enrolled in additional categories. At fourteen I had 18 hours of categories every week to not point out rehearsals and suggests. I'm no longer pronouncing do this, however I'm pronouncing you will have to recollect no less than 5 hours every week in case you wish to be pointe capable via the following dancing semester. Keep operating regardless that and you'll be able to get there, I promise!

you definitely have to be ready to go on pointe. some dancers don't get there until theyre 16, some get there when theyre eleven. ask your teacher for exercises but i recommend you do 100 releves in first position with your feet fully turned out...every day. it really isnt as much as it seems so you should probably go until you get tired, just do at least 100.

you're old enough to be on pointe but not technically advanced enough. it will probably be a couple of years b4 you're there. practice lots and develop the strength you'll need in your legs, ankles and torso. do all your barre and center exercises in releve position also - that's a good way to build strength and balance.

it's all about the ankles, just practice going up and down on the balls of your feet. Try it with both feet, then with one at a time.
