...but not holidays that are actually celebrated by millions around the world like Victoria Day, Boxing Day, and Remembrance Day? Not even Veterans' Day for the US is there. How about Canada Day and national holidays from all the other countries represented at the bottom of this page?
Just wondering

Ana - give your head a shake.
Boxing Day and Victoria Day are holidays in the British Commonwealth - nations around the world. And if you want holidays celebrated by one nation only removed, then Independence Day and all other US holidays would have to be removed.
I bet you didn't think of that, did you?

The holidays like the ones the ones you mention in the question are the holidays of different countries that have immigrated to other countries for various reason. Now with the Kwanzaa is a an African-American celebration of their culture. Boxing Day is celebrated by the Australians and the gents from The British Empire. Victoria is the same as Boxing Day. And those may not be a federal holliday in their country or even here. Just like some of the holidays that people celebrate here in the US are not federal holidays. Some are just religous holidays, some are culture holidays and some are just there. Only ones that are really celebrated to me that I have seen here in the US are Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

Oy,don't be so petty and DEMAND that EVERY holiday be listed. If they were to have a topic for every holiday know around the world, the list would be TEN times longer than what you see here. Yahoo is trying to offer a good diversity in its selections of holidays...not all will be discussed and some should be.
If there is a question that you have about any of those other holidays you mentioned, then there could be a catagory about them...otherwise, why mention all those holidays if there is no interest in discussing them on an open forum like this, huh?
Bet you didn't think of THAT.

Well, they only just added a Halloween category back at the beginning of the month, so perhaps they will take that down & put in Veterans Day when that rolls around here in America. As for all those "other" holidays, I guess they're trying to please everybody & list those days for the "other" people out here . . .
Gotta be politically correct, you know - : )

Thee are alot more people around the world who celebrate these holidays------there are no bounds of nationality.
The ones that you mention are not on here are national holidays
celebrated by just one country. If you go with these, you would have thousands of holidays to list on Y!.

Paganism might want to be lesser-prevalent to the international at large, yet maximum everyone is assembly and interacting on line, even if it really is besides to or particularly of having a community crew to affix up with. on the internet our presence is a lot more suitable, and that i encounter it puzzling to believe that we are unknown to everyone who surfs the internet with any regularity. I do imagine they might want to easily make a familiar "Pagan holidays" section; there is such diverse different paths less than the Pagan umbrella that you'll genuinely list thousands of gala's. obviously Yahoo communities, very last I checked, did not have a Pagan class both, even although I belong to a minimum of seven communities fairly dealing with my personal certain route (Hellenismos) it really is not quite that enormous in numbers, and comprehend that there is a ton of different Pagan communities on there. we are adequate of a presence for Yahoo to take be conscious.
