I don't really know who "decided" to add purple to the Halloween color scheme, but it's right up there now with orange & black. I've noticed a lot more green & yellow, too - It's all very festive & puts me "in the mood"!!! Trick or Treat! Happy Halloween!!!
(probably card makers & such added the color) ((blame them))

because it looks good with black, I don't know. Maybe because it's a deep, dark color?!
