Anyone know what the differences are. Is it just feed rate or is there some othe design differences?

One can used as the other, just adjust the feed. You may need to replace the auger. Call the dealer.

A lot depends on availability, the corn also sells for around $2.50 a bushel. I have never priced the pellets. We have several grain elevators in our area so the corn is easier to get. A half ton pick up load generally runs around $30.00. The corn just slowly drops into a small tray where it is burned. If you live on a farm and have your own corn then that is the way to go.

not much, one burns corn, and one burns pellets, most pellet stoves burn significantly hotter, in order to burn the wood. Some stoves you can do both, but others are designed for specific.
