After 4 days of eating crackers, chicken soup, rice, cinnamon toast and 7-up I am almost ready to eat real food, but my stomach is still a little tender so I don't want to get sick all over again. Any suggestions?

Try eating something light like chicken soup or some other soup. Stay away from stuff too spicy or greasy. The best thing to do is eat lightly at first for a day or two and then take it from there how you are feeling. Eat some toast too and make sure you do not let yourself go with an empty tummy either. You do not want the tummy acids working with nothing to digest or that will cause the acid to burn and make your tummy upset too.
If you were suffering diarrhea try some home made tapioca. That is what I always gave my kid and it helped him a lot. Hope you are feeling better real soon.

My mom would always have us settle our stomachs with 7-Up (real, not diet). The fizzy water would aid in bowel regulation and the sugar in the soda would control the nausea.

For real food, I would start with a bowl of 5-minute oatmeal and some protein. If you are not really hungry - make a 1/4 cup portion instead of the regular 1/2 cup portion. I usually fry some turkey burger patties in olive oil for my protein with my oatmeal.

Stay away from dairy for a day or two, but be sure you are getting your 64 oz (2 liters) of water to fully flush the bug from your system.

Hope you feel even better faster.

Flu is caused by a virus, and if it's gone then it's gone. I do understand the "tender-stomach" feeling, though. The best thing you can do right now is just eat healthy foods. ... no greasy stuff that would only add to feeling queasy.

Best of everything!

When you're ready for real food start w/ a low residue diet. Skinless chicken, mashed potatoes and other foods that r plain and easy to digest. No seeds or fibrous foods. Type "low residue diet" in a search engine for more suggestions. Have had lots of experience (unfortunately) w/ diet restriction and foods that are easy to digest. Good luck

Make home-made chicken soup, even beef soup, you need the protein and the amino acids. I should have becan with the beef soup since I live in beef rasing country in the US. Viva la US grown beef. Anyway with potatoes, onions and carrots you have quite a meal. Also anything else you like can be thrown in.

If you can hold that stuff down you can start adding some real food but stay away from anything spicy for a little while. Eat light.

Start out with mashed potatoes and soft scrambled eggs. Once you feel ok with those add macaroni and cheese and keep it soft for another day. Don't ignore jello as its as full of electrolytes as the drink they give kids when they have it.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

chicken pot pie, corned beef and cabbage soup, toast, bagels, I would steer clear of anything too heavy. No, mayo, milk or anything like that.
