Well if you are a man you shouldn't have to "act". To a man, being or acting like a man should be natural. So, just be yourself. Don't worry so much about what others think of you. Real men don't give a flying fart what other people think of them. The only opinion about you that matters is your own, and if you have to change yourself or act like something your not, then your not a real man.
Being a real man is more in your head than in your outward appearance. The greatest advice I can give to be a man is simply "Don't let nobody else make up your mind, and your be alright".

just be yourself man, don't try to be "macho" or "manly"...I personally don't care for the "macho" friends that I have, I think they look stupid and most of the time, people make fun of them anyway. If you want to impress, then impress with your own unique way of being. My two cents, my two points...

You act "manly" by being a gentleman, with everything that entails.

So as to impress the ladies, be chivalrous.
So as to impress your friends, basically what Eurotrip Don said, burp, fart, scratch, football, beer.
Just be yourself.

Be sensitive and caring. That is the most "manly" thing you can do. Many men try, few succeed.
