I will be in barbados over the xmas and NY time - i went last year and spent 2wks on the beach - what can we do as a family that we all will enjoy - we will be on the west side of the island

You can go on the Island Safari tour, there is also an ATV tour. There is scuba diving and jet skis. There are catamaran cruises, and Harbour Master cruises and the Jolly Roger cruises.
There is a huge Christmas night party put on by BBaje International.

Barbados is one of those places where doing nothing but relaxing on a beach, taking a nap, veg, is the major reason why people go to Barbados.
So to answer your question, if you guys were there last year for 2 weeks, then you have probably already done everything that's available on the island.
