It sounds like No Trace has a bug. You might contact the manufacturer.

If you're just trying to clen up index files and such you might try Ccleaner, it's free and fairly effective.

The error indicated that the program is attempting to access a file that is already in use or to which you do not have rights. Are you an administrator on the PC? IF not (if only a limited user), you do not have rights to the winnet.dll file.

Instead of No Trace, download and run the free ccleaner. Does the same thing (and more).

Computer programs and their associated files can become corrupted for any one of many reasons.

Usually, it is easiest to simply uninstall and then reinstall the software. In this case, "NO TRACE".

From your discription, it appears that the problem file is a ".dll" file. These commonly get corrupted if they are used by another program in a common mode. Many .dll files are common to several programs.

The most common mistake is to allow them to be deleted when you uninstall software. Usually you'll get a prompt that asks if you want to remove it. If you say yes, you can cause other programs not to work properly. As seems to be the situation you are experiencing.

Generally speaking, when you delete software from your PC and it asks if you want to delete a .dll file I recommend you just leave them on your PC as they do no harm, and take up very little space. If you know they only pertain to the program you are deleting the go ahead and delete them.

Hope this helps.

Maybe it's corrupt or there's a conflict w/ some of your other software. Delete program and load in again. Better yet just delete and try one of the other free programs out there that does the same thing.

Something is corrupt. Try completely uninstalling and reinstalling again. If that doesn't work it may be Windows files that are corrupt?
