Hi. I am about 17 weeks pregnant, and my husband wants to be careful. Hes afraid hes going to hurt either me or the baby. Is there any special precautions we should take? Is there any positions you are supposed to do and NOT to do? We also have a special sex life with rough sex and toys... is that bad too? Id hate so much to stop our fun but he wants to for the baby. Thanks so much for your answers.

Just ease back on the "rough stuff" ... any position thats comfy for you is a good one ... doggy is one that you can use right up untill Junior starts comming out for air
You won't hurt the baby through normal penetration ... just be careful the little bugger doesn't bite dads "old fella" ...lol

My husband and I like to play a bit on the rough side of things as well. We took a break from all of that because of the pregnancy, though. (I was actually told by a doctor when asking about rough play to "keep it vanilla" through the pregnancy.) Some toys are going to be fine, but if you're usually a receiver when it comes to spanking or flogger-type toys, stop until after the baby gets here.

My husband was also hesitant when it came to even vanilla play (for fear of hurting the baby) until we talked to the doctor and he was reassured. Ask your husband to go with your to your next OB appointment. Make a list beforehand of any questions that either of you (or both of you) have. Trust me, it won't be the first time an OB has been asked questions about sex during pregnancy. Once my husband had a chance to talk with the doctor, he felt better about things and wasn't quite as hesitant about us being together sexually.

We weren't told that any positions were off limits. You may have to get more creative the further along you are, but that could just make things a bit more exciting.

Good luck!

no rough sex, honey....you have your baby to think about. i'm just curious as to how "rough" it is...but that's your business!!!

Only your doc can tell you if sex is safe. If he has not given you any restrictions, then feel free to have as much sex as you want, altho do it gently! The only thing you might find uncomfortable is missionary, since you shouldn't be on your back now anyway and your belly will get in the way! As for sex toys, I have read it is not safe during preg because of the risk of infection....only fingers or penis!!! But ask your ob just to make sure.

when i was pregnant ( one year ago) I had the best sex life in my life :-) My husband loved how horny i was all day. We had sex every day for 9 month. So don't be afraid just do it and try new comfortable positions. Don't use the toys cause you can have fun without them!

I would say that you should tone it down a little for the rest of the pregnancy. You probably want to avoid missionary and any other position where he is going to put direct pressure on your stomach. Doggy style and you on top are your best bet. i know they say you can have sex even into your 3rd trimester but just take it easier than norma.

Anything you feel comfortable with should be absolutley fine. Rough sex is fine aswel aslong as you still feel comfortable, it will probably get more difficult as the weeks go on. Your baby is safe inside his or her amniotic fluid so don't stop your fun!

My husband and that i like to play slightly on the tough area of issues as nicely. We took a wreck from all of that by way of being pregnant, nevertheless. (i became quite informed by a doctor while asking approximately tough play to "shop it vanilla" for the time of the being pregnant.) some toys are going to be large, yet once you're generally a receiver while it consists of spanking or flogger-style toys, supply up till after the toddler gets right here. My husband became additionally hesitant while it got here to even vanilla play (for worry of injuring the toddler) till we talked to the physician and he became reassured. Ask your husband to flow with your on your next OB appointment. Make a catalogue formerly of any questions that the two of you (or the two considered one of you) have. have faith me, it quite is not the 1st time an OB has been asked questions approximately intercourse for the time of being pregnant. as quickly as my husband had a guess to speak with the physician, he felt greater suitable approximately issues and wasn't quite as hesitant approximately us being jointly sexually. There ia absolutely no danger in having sex while pregnant provided you are doing it with your husband. If you are afraid, you may simply avoid having your husband on your stomach. He can com from the back etc. If you wish, you may leave those other extraordinary positions for the moment. Please no toys, leave them for now.
