I buy compatible ink for my epsom printer, am I harming the product or is it okay.

How much difference is there between epson and compatible ink.

Some people use epson ink for their photos, but would it not be cheaper to take them to a shop to be printed.

Epson, HP and all the other printer manufacturers sell printers for cheap to get you using their model. Then they slam you for replacement cartridges and claim that if you ever refill your cartridge yourself that it voids the warranty...a real scam. I've refilled my color cartridges with ink kits bought off of Ebay and never noticed any decrease in quality.

Epson is in business to make money. They have convinced many of their customers that ONLY Epson ink will perform properly in their printers.

BULL!!!

My Epson cartridges cost $54 dollars for a pair from Epson and from Staples.

Years ago a tech at my local computer store told me about a second source for my cartridges. They are brand new cartridges simply manufactured without the Epson name. They are exactly the same as the ones from Epson.

My black cartridge usually costs $28 and the 3 color cartridge costs $26.

I buy the black for $1.05 and the 3 color for $2.25

Some difference huh!!!

I've been using these cartridges for years in 3 Epson printers that I own and have never had any problems with clogging, etc. I have also recommended them to many people and have had no complaints about how they function yet.

I get them from the following site and they have cartridges for almost any printer made.

Hope this helps.

It aint just epson, I have yet to see ANY home printer manufacturer who doesnt rob you blind! When you purchase a printer to begin with, the company doesnt make any money from the sale of the printer, its all based on calculations on how much ink they can sell you! As far as refills, I fail to see how ink in a replaceable cartridge could have ANY effect on a printer! Maybe a difference in the color it prints but if you can live with this I am sure your printer will work as long as its intended to (which usually isnt a very long time)! I have developed my own little set of rules for printers,
1: never buy a multifunction unit! The printer WILL die and you will be stuck with a half of a multifunction unit!
2: Make sure when looking for a printer that you find one with seperate color cartridges and a seperate black cartridge.
3: Make sure the cartrdges are HUGE!
4: Make sure the cartridges are refilleable or can be replaced with refilled units!

Firstly Lilac Bay is talking a load of rubbish.
New generation inks have up to 30% more ink, cost less than half the price of original Epson inks. They are premium inks and dedicated to the model of printer they are made for.
You can get the best ones from here http://www.theinkstore.ltd.uk/

Its expensive because its original. Compatible ink has lesser content and not guaranteed quality wise. If you just need to print one or two photos it is cheaper to go photoshop.
