if one does not care, it is useless for the other to keep trying to be romantic. you just have to talk to the other person and tell him/her how you feel maybe he/she will want to change with your help but if she/he do not care to be romantic, there is no need to keep trying.

As the saying goes, "it takes two hands to clap".
But it is not all gloom and doom.
If the uninterested party is the wife, my opinion is that, it is more likely that the marriage can be saved if the husband puts in the effort to rekindle it. Females are easily influenced with sweet words, romantic and caring gestures from men.
If the uninterested party is the husband, the likely problem is that the man has issues that he himself cannot resolve and would not want to discuss it with the wife. This makes it a little more difficult for the wife to fully understand his issues and for the man to open up to her. This will naturally cause a communication breakdown.

Romance is felt at the intimate friction of the both at exactly almost the same wave length. If one is not, the other will suffer and curse. There the first seed of hatred laid. It grows nicely till the excellent married life ends with a court notice.

If one doesn't care, the one who does is wasting time wanting something that isn't there.
