I simply have to know from some of you who may be my age (50-ish). I am very, very happily married. I wouldn't trade my wife and family for anyone or anything. But I still occasionally have vivid dreams about a girl I knew and loved in 1975. I saw and talked to her her once 10 years ago (she lives 500 miles from me and it was not a planned meeting at all!) and afterwards I cried like a baby, like I had lost her all over again. I guess I just want to know if anyone else goes through this (or is going through this) or if it is just me?

I still love my first love, but as you said it is a dream. The person then and now are not the same. Grown and changed. So hold your dream in your heart where she will live the same as you remember.

I think it's very normal actually. I am by no means in your age group, but I still dream and care about my first love whom I was married to for 5 1/2 years. There is still alot of past emotions there, and apparently they were special. But also remember that there must of been a reason the relationship ended and you are with the person you are with now!

She must have been one wonderful girl to have made an impression like that on you. You sound like a very romantic and loving man. Your wife is one lucky women! I'm sure there are guys out there who have had the same experience as you so I'll let them share their experience. I just wanted to let you know you sound like a very sweet man.

i think you're normal. we all have someone we loved long ago that we think about from time to time. i have one and i haven't seen him for probably 30 yrs. but at times i wonder about him and what he does and all that. but i too am married and that's just life. i think of it this way ... i wasn't meant to be with this person and life deals us different cards. you'll never forget your first love and maybe your wife has someone too, she just never says anything. and by the way .. i'm 48 .. hope that close enough to 50.

I Still dreaming of my ex,, but I aint gonna back for her, not even for a million, cause I can make a million myself,, the point is,, that WAS PAST, if it had worked out, it should worked out in the past ,,, I WILL PAY 3 MILLIONS to have a happy family like yours,, YOU ARE BLESSED so Forget the damn past,, I dont like to think about someone who doesnt care about me,, it wasting time,,,,

I believe you still dream about her, because you must have a great time .... but that was past,, and u broke up,,, so for me I will walk away ASAP and find the happiness I am still looking for....

U HAVE a great family why should you switch with a sad past? thats aint worth a damn shitty dime,,, sorry but thats the truth,,,

Wow. I've never gone through it -- didn't meet the love of my life until I was 41 years old. I do remember my first crush and my first puppy love and my first love, but seeing any of them again (and I have) would never elicit that kind of emotional response.

Maybe she was your true love?
