This is a tough one.
as i gamer, i know that it really sucks if someone bothers me when i'm 'in the zone' during a game. Disrupting that kind of flow could have dire consequences since there's an intense amount of concentration involved even if you see it as "just a video game."
My suggestion would be to work with the flow rather than against it. while he's playing, you can put a glass of water beside him, some chips or even a small snack. This is just to let him know that you exist. You can also tell him that once the game is done, and before he moves to playing another game, that maybe you guys can go out on a date, or watch a movie.
You don't really need to find professional help. The technique with heavy gamers is that you have to catch them 'in-between' games where there's usually a recovery period after completing one, and before a new one starts.

You need to look at yourself first. Ask yourself whether you are being selfish with your husband's time. Are you cooking him meals that he can eat whilst playing his favourite video games? If not, why not! Also, have you taken care of your husband's hygiene needs? Are you brushing his teeth and washing behind his ears? All these things take time away from playing video games and as a good wife you should look after your husband and make sure your fella's time on the computer is uninterupted.
You might be a selfish wife?

i told mine he could have his time on the games without me bothering him if he set aside time for me without the games. i also recorded the amount of time he was spending playing the games and showed him. he was shocked to see for himself how much time he was playing games.

You should play with him. Encourage him to buy multiplayer games so that you can join in.
