I had this argument with my friend about whether Greeks are naturally blond n' blue or not. I argued that they got their genes from the Gallic immigrants and that the blond n' blue heroes and heroines in their folklore was inspired from the northern peoples, just as anime characters are drawn as tall and large eyed in contrast to the Japanese.
He in the other hand insisted that the Greeks ARE originally blond n' blue, it's just that their genes were mixed with the Turks during the Ottoman occupation, thus resulting in their black hair. The Greeks think very highly of themselves and consider foreigners as inferior barbarians, thus it is unlikely that they portray their heroes in a foreign image.
What are your thoughts on this?Inputs from Greeks are higly appreciated.

retrodragonfly, Hollywood movies are the least expected place for one to get factually correct information, especially when Chinese actors play as Japanese, or Turkish as Russians or Mexicans as Arabs.
