Actually, the elbow is more likely to bleed out with the bone so close to the skin. i have both sides of both of my arms done, the ditch (inner arm) holds well if you can sit through it, more importantly, keep up on the aftercare, though its not the most painful spot in my opinion. Artists will certainly do that spot, it's a part of a sleeve and those are very common tattoos. Think about what you want and how long ago the surgery was. For some, you need to let the scar tissue heal and soften before ink will take well to it, otherwise it might look consistently faded in that spot. Your best bet is taking what you enjoy or think up that you want, to an artist and let them see the scar. they can tell you at that point if you should try inking it or go around it. They're easily incorporated into things like trees/branches, or big pieces that can hide them, but if you don't want to go big, your best bet is taking the hobbies, ideas, thoughts you'll know you want down the road and working with an artist to work out something specific to you.

Yes the healing is indeed a problem because you can't possibly hold the arm still for whole week. But the making of it is not merely more painful than on other body parts. And you'll be unique in a way - not anybody is tatooed on that spot! At least hat's my experiece. I'm tattoed on both arms from hand to shoulder in mirrored tribals, including the inside of the elbow.

I've wanted that tattoo for a long time now. Not exactly inside elbow. But about a 1cm towards the hand from the elbow. I wanted to get some sort of nautical star design, maybe even just on shadowed star with red in it, idk probably won't get it done for a long time. People tell me that because that area is generally a bit jelly-like that'll be more painful. but since i've had no other tattoos, would i really have anything to compare it to, lol

I have a full right arm sleeve. Its not as bad as some might say for healing.Try using bepanthem baby rash bottom cream it'll heal in about 7/8 days. Also if your tattooist is giving you say 4 hour sittings it wont matter as he can go over it all the same.Gd luck.My sleeve will be on my public 360 soon. The sorest place to have done is the sole of your foot or the palms or fingertips but theres not much point as they wear very quickly.

I don't know about the inside of the elbow but I know the backside of the kneecap hurts like a son-of-a-mmmmm. So more power to ya! And Good luck on it... I've know a lady that got one their & yeah her's got infected because of the way she slept. She curled her arms so no air was able to get to it - something like that - it's been a long time.

It just take harder to heal as its on a body part that is constantly in motion.Keep it moist with creams and it will minimise scab forming.
