I think there is a little more to this that the obvious "bits and pieces" answers.

I do not wish to stereotype BUT being a gay man with str8, gay, bi and lesbian friends, I do have the chance to observe things from all ways on.

If you visit a gay night club with mainly males, as a general rule you will find it to be fairly hassle free, little if any violence and most folks being reasonably "easy going".

A stright night club tends to have a little more tension in the air - and fights / agressive behaviour is much more likely from both males and females - mainly males.

A club with mainly Lesbians can be significantly more violent/tense still however and seeing a stressy, "substantially built" lady thowing a hissy fit in her dungarees can be quite a frightning sight to behold.

I am not saying these are universal findings, but most people who have been to gay clubs AND obersved groups of gay men and groups of gay women are likely to have noticed significantly more "agro" from the females than the males. Many lesbians will also acknowledge (with frustration) that this is so. Why this is so, I am unsure.

In many ways, I think gay men and lesbians are, in fact, poles apart - they have little if anything in common. The notion that because they both are intersted in "same sex" realtionships they are somehow similar in other ways seems to be very flawed logic.

Lesbians are often highly interested in adoption right, womens rights, animal rights and right. Gay men do not seem to share the same interests to the same extent.

Gay men are often found in highly creative fields, art, design, music, fashion, hair dressing etc. This does not appeal as much (in practice) to lesbians.

Differernt animals entrirely in my humble opinion.

Gender is the determining factor here. I often call myself "gay" as a generic term mostly because I don't like the term "bisexual" and I don't fit as a "full-on" lesbian.
I'm certainly not straight. So identify as "gay."

It's just a matter of semantics. Gay usually refers to homosexual men and Lesbian exclusively refers to homosexual women (homosexual men don't really have an exclusive term...the word gay was originally thought to do this and lesbian for women, but society seems to have just taken the word gay to mean homosexual in general).

Nothing other than physiological differences! Adding to that, gay men are attracted to MEN, and Lesbians are attracted to WOMEN!

I'm a gay woman. The difference is how the words are spelled.

The bits and pieces. What are you asking exactly? Physical mechanics? You may want to rephrase/explain the question slightly more.

uhm...gay people are male, lesbian people are female. I don't think you will find any other difference more major than that.
