There are many reasons for bleeding gums and halitosis. The most common reason for them is overly vigourous brushing which irritates the gum and exposes the softer areas of the tooth. This will cause th gums to recede and for plaque to form beneath the gums.
It may also be that your brusing technique is incorrect, that you are not brushing properly or that you are not reaching all the spots. If the mouth remains dirty the gums will bleed.
Make sure you use dental floss, as food trapped between the teeth will cause halitosis and irritation to the gums. Mouth wash is also very helpful to wash off the bacteria left behind by brushing.
Make sure even your tongue is clean because even the tongue carries plaque and will render your brushing less effective if left unclean.
Make a dental appointment bi-annually to remove excess tartar and polish your teeth. A deep cleaning of the teeth will reduce the risk of halitosis and bleeding gums, as well as monitor the process of tooth decay and catch problems earlier.

You could have gingivitis which is caused by not flossing and brushing regularly. You could also have Periodontal disease, that is also caused by not flossing and brushing. It will definantly cause bad breath and for your gums to bleed. If you see a dentist and have a teeth cleaning usually for Periodontal treatment you have to have what is called Scaling and Root Planing, that is they numb your mouth and go underneath the gumline to remove the hard plaque. For gingivitis you usually will have your teeth cleaned and your hygienist will put you on a mouth rinse to help with your gums, then she'll probably want to see you back to make sure your gums are looking better.

Can be several causes...
Start with a visit to your dentist - you might have some rotten teeth. If the bad odour does not dissappear, it might be a problem with your stomach - check with your physician.
Personally, I had bleeding gums when dieting - and no bread! it was a deficiency in vitamin B, which I corrected.
Bleeding gum might also be a sign of parodonthosis... check with you dentist too.
Best wishes!

It sounds like periodontal disease. A gum infection.
Use Hydrogen Peroxide to brush and mouth wash with to heal your gums. It is safe and will heal but do not swallow.
Read some of the other answers re guarding teeth whitening to get information about Hydrogen peroxide.

This is probably gingivitis. You have to take antibiotics for it after you get it, flossing and brushing and mouth wash will not work it only prevents gingivitis. Talk to your dentist he will know.
