You could grind up the seeds and make smoothies. However the benefit of protein powder is that they have removed much of the fiber which is about 50% of the seed. Look online there is a company that offers 70% protein powder you'll pay more but get more nutrients per pound of product so you don't have to use as much and will last longer. As you remove more of the fiber you end up with higher oil content also (very beneficial omega-3 and omega-6). Hemp protein is the most complete and amazingly digestible protein from any plant source. You should still eat a balanced diet with hemp protein supplementation. The seeds are great to snack on if you like and do make good salad toppings or hemp milk. If you want to gain/improve muscle the higher percentage protein powders are best as you can eat more than you can even digest. But don't over do the powders, start with a couple tablespoons at the most in the beginning. It is easy to eat more protein than you need. EXERCISE is the most critical part to avoid excess fat gain and ensure full benefit of the nutrients otherwise it's just wasted. Also important is calcium as you need it to process the protein, kale is high in calcium and works great for a smoothie if you can't stand it raw lightly steam it. I personally have been eating hemp and particularly hemp protein powders for several years even to the extreme without issues. Just try what your comfortable with and lower your consumption or even stop it if bothers you in any way.

Hemp seeds contain fatty acids and amino acids anyway. By the way, if you're planning on growing hemp for smoking, it's not going to work unless it's cannabis sativa, which it more than likely isn't - sorry.

Hemp seeds already have essential fatty acids and amino acids in them, so yes, they would grow. If you look in bags of bird food you're likely to find some hemp seeds which would probably sprout if you planted them.

commercial hemp seeds (which is what you most likely have) have been steam sterilized. It's the law, unfortunally.
BTW, the fatty and amino acids aren't "put" in them. They are naturally occuring.
If you want to grow smoke, you can order live seeds online, altough most shops won't mail them to the US, only Canada.
If you go to the provinces of Quebec or British Columbia, you can easily buy them in hemp stores, and then mail them to your US address. I know two good stores for that in Montreal.
