Obvously the turbo will go much faster, but i'm guessing the non-turbo will satisfy my needs. I've been told that the TT's are better on fuel (doesn't sound likely), or that they don't like heat. Are they less reliable or anything? Please help.

Wouldn't it be better asking the car dealers as they know all about their vehicles !!! Just visit one of the showrooms or their website. You're only going to get mixed results on here

Buy a JDM front clip then spend almost $10,000 more modify your car blow up the original turbo motor and spend another 10,000 or sell the na and look for a 300zx twin turbo. Taking a NA to TT specification is a very expensive job. You could do better with a GM small block conversion.

Heat is a turbo charger's downfall. If 'it' was new, the system would last for awhile but in the long run the turbo's bearings will go 'down'. If you want to enhance the performance and if it's possible to install on a 300Z, a 'super charger' would be what you want. They mount in the intake system ( very little heat ) as opposed to turbo chargers which mount in the exhaust which is very, very hot and ruins bearings plus other components.

Check out the 'super chargers' if possible.

300 z's are infamous for overheating turbo models. I would invest in some upgrades, like upgrade the intercooler and such. I would go with the turbo simply because there is a WORLD of difference between the non turbo and the turbo.

Bearing in mind the running costs of insurance , tax and fuel I would definately not go for the turbo. The standard car is fast enough for most roads anyway.

turbo... its the only way to go, the NA 300zx are for guys that want to look like they have a fast car. the engines are made to withstand the heat, the only reason you get into heat issues is when you mod the car and do i shooty job of it... plus if you get a boost controller just keep the boostdown for daily and turn it up when you want the extra airflow.

Well, look at where you live. If it is very hot, no, 'cause one very hot day you will get overheating as the car gets old. If it floods, you will get hell if water gets up in the turbo.

But those things not relevant, then get the turbo, OR get a non-turbo and supercharge it.
