Er.. puppets can't talk. It's a person doing the voice!!

The actual puppet can't be sued but the person can be but it really depends what the person said. If it was racist they can probably be taken out of the show or something.

Legally, they have absolute immunity from anything and cannot be prosecuted in any way. You can try out this theory by going into a pub and have your puppet steal drinks from large hairy men - do let us know how you get on.

the puppetteer would be sued. I discovered a couple years ago that puppets aren't actually talking.
