The only thing they have in common is the law. One groups is breaking it the other abides by it.

When did following the law suddenly become optional? Although I am glad you had the courage to actually use the word illegal in your question, most media outlets in the U.S. have simply dropped that little awkward fct.
We are not opposed to anyone wanting to come to this country at all. What the argument is depends on whether or not those "undocumented" workers have even tried to go through the legal process.
My parents were immigrants, my Mom came from Brighton and my Dad was from Italy. But, they came here legally and then once here did not automatically demand free handouts, changes in laws to suit them or demand to be paid top-wages for jobs they had never done before.
It's pretty sad that when i go to a fast food place I have to point to the picture on the wall to let the girl behind the counter know what i want to order. I have to do this because even though she is now in this country she has refused to learn English. But then again, she has a job dealing with the public.....
It's pretty sad when people come here from other countries - illegally - refuse to assimilate, refuse to learn english, refuse to follow our basic laws, but the riot in the streets because they demand that we accomodate them to the nth degree.
You know, I would love to move to England. Unfortunately, I have no information on my family ties there and I have no transferable job skills. Coming to England would mean immediately having to sign up for government assistance and all that entails. So guess what, until i can come to England legally, logically and without need for assistance, I stay here.
I would also love to live in japan for a while. Gee, maybe I'll be an emergency services dispatcher there. No I don't speak japanese, I don't know anything about how they do things over there but hey I'm sure I can get all the other English speaking only people there to rise up against the government and demand changes to the very fabric of the Japanese way of life right?
Oh wait, that's right, there have been English speaking people in Japan for centuries and not once did they riot in the streets to get any changes. They adapted to the culture they moved into. They follow(ed) local and state laws. They take the time to assimilate as much as they can into the Japanese culture. They didn't move to Japan to make it into another England, Ireland, Germany. They moved there because they liked Japan for what it was (is).
Really try to think a question through before you post. Honestly, until you have lived a year in L.A. and see first hand the absolute stupidity brought on by the so-called immigration movement, keep your "lack of intelligence" comments to yourself.

Were you actually going to read and study this issue, or just pipe off and call people stupid for not agreeing with your position? I don't mean to offend, there, 'your grace', but people are entitled to their points of view on this and many other issues. Also, I'd like to add that if you percieve illegal immigration to be this heavenly addition to american society, go test the waters in some 3rd world countries, and consider your opinion carefully in light of your newfound experiences. I think you'll be back in a month, probably helping BUILD that wall LOLOL

Illegal immigrants pay minuscule taxes receives BILLIONS in social services
Anti-Illegals pay large portion of wages in taxes; watches while quality of life is legislated away by both the democrats & republicans in favor of illegal immigrants
Sorry you have "bought into" the lies being told by the media & our government! I am well educated, retired, anything but destitude, want to ensure our children & grandchildren don't inherit a third world cesspool! I'll pit my intelligence, life experiences and logic against yours anyday.....

. Like most people who try to defend their position on an issue you have used stereotyping and generalizations.I can see that you are very misinformed about the people that oppose the tidal wave of illegal aliens coming into this country.First of all,I am a very successful business owner with a college degree.I live in Scottsdale AZ.
My husband, also a college graduate, owns several businesses. We also own an Arabian Horse Farm about 30 miles from Scottsdale. So your assumptions are incorrect.
The lack of intelligence I see is coming from the illegal aliens and their supporters breaking the laws that are against illegal immigration. Its very ignorant to me to think that this nation is going to change for them.It is illegal and it is very costly to support this so called "cheap " labor" I have yet to see any intelligence in expecting the legal Americans to educate your children, take care of your health needs, incarcerate your criminals. And watch the desecration of our nations flag by illegals marching in our streets demanding rights reserved for legal citizens.
In this nation we are a democracy,(no dictators) so one cant run the government any way they please. We have laws that for the good of all the legal citizens. They must be enforced and obeyed. If you choose not to obey them then you are a criminal and will be treated as a criminal.
You are sadly not very knowledgeable on this subject.
Perhaps the report on what it costs my state for illegal aliens may help you see more clearly.
The $1.3 billion in costs incurred by Arizona taxpayers is comprised of outlays in the following areas:
Education. Based on estimates of the illegal immigrant population in Arizona and documented costs of K-12 schooling, Arizonans spend approximately $820 million annually on education for illegal immigrant children and for their U.S.-born siblings.
Health Care. Uncom-pensated medical outlays for health care provided to the state’s illegal alien population is now estimated at about $400 million a year.
Incarceration. The cost of incarcerating illegal aliens in Arizona prisons and jails amounts to about $80 million a year (not including the monetary costs of the crimes that led to their incarceration).
The unauthorized immigrant population pays some state and local taxes that go toward offsetting these costs, but they do not come near to matching the expenses. The total of such payments might generously be estimated at $257 million per year.

they both have a fear, the immigrants fear that they will be forced to remain in poverty and not achive freedom from opression, the anti immigants fear differences in culture, and their own well being, funny as those that oppose immigration are decended from people who came here uninvited by the original peoples of this land
