1)We didn't evolve form monkeys, we evolved from the same background as apes.
2)All humans would be related on some level, we're the same race.

If we all descended from monkeys how come they are still around and have not evolved also? How come we still look like we do now and have not continued to evolve? There is no logic in claiming to have descended from a lower animal than we are now. We are all related though through Adam and Eve the first man and woman. You may believe it or not as you want. You may believe you descended from a lower animal but leave me out of it as I descended from man through the force of God. ∟

What a bunch of crap. So do all animals go to hell then? No, bc there is no hell and there is no heaven. And animals don't have the need to invent God; they are simple creatures who accept nature. Death is the end. Too bad.

And I'd sure like to see Christians stop ending their opinions with "Period." Like bc you say it is so, that's the end of the story. Lol.

And, as to the "Why are there still monkeys" question, I used to wonder that too. It's bc not all strains of monkeys evolved. We were the ones who lucked out.

Yes. If we are all descendants of Adam and Eve (or First Woman, if you are a Navajo, or another First Couple, depending on your faith) we are all related too. Either way, a Chinese in Canton, a Norwegian in Oslo and a Masai in Nairobi are your cousins.

Current monkey species and we homo sapiens had a common ancestor. We split off from the chimps most recently; exactly when is still debated, but I hear 1.5 million years ago a lot.

We are all related.

We are not evolved from monkeys, but rather from earlier forms. We have common ancestors with monkeys - they're more like our cousins than they are our great-grandparents.

Sadly, half of the "answers" you get to this will be from desperate people denying this because of the weakness of their religious faith.

Hint to the creationists: If you say "If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys around?", you make a complete and utter fool of yourself. Don't say this. If you're going to object to evolution, learn at least a LITTLE about it before you open your mouth with this kind of infantile idiocy. One of the biggest reasons that people think creationists are lazy morons is that so many of them say that phrase and apparently think it's a valid argument against evolution.

Humans did not evolve from monkeys, or any other species for that matter. Every species was individually created. Humans have a spirit, while animals dont. What that means is that humans have the ability to form relationships with God and communicate with God, animals cant. But I bet you dont believe in God, right?
P.S. Dont listen to the girl below me.

Why does one attempt to relate humans to monkeys?

Nature produced a wide variety of creatures.

Their similarities do not mean one came from another.

Humans did not evolve from monkeys, but from apes. And yes, we're all related way, way back on the genetic family tree.

actually the first living organisms were mico-organisms formed in water. the rest of the living beings were evolved from these. thus even though humans are directly evolved from Apes, technically our evolution comes through micro-organisms. in that sense all living beings are evolved from micro-organisms and all of us living beings be it humans or animals are related. Humans are just too proud to admit their relationship with other animals less intelligent than them

i agree fully wiv Rvardell n Paul S

here's somfing mor 4u:
its been proved scientifically that men n monkeys r closely-related by ape ancestors...etc
apes, chimps n monkeys behave in same way....looking after sibling, communicating, gesticulating, watching tv, listening to music, need to socialise...
bt the fing that prevents chimps n monkeys from socialising n comunicating properly is their lack of speech ability!
n this is only bkoz fo genetic factor...
pharynx, larynx, throat help in speech...
chimps, apes, monkeys n humans hav them all
bt speech isnt possible in them koz of the position of the pharynx...its too high up near their brain...if that is lowered...then they can "speak" like humans...provided that they learn the human lingo words!!

PS:hmmm...somfing amnt so sur abt...its either the pharynx or the larynx thats too high up..n needs to be lowered

sorry....i 4got!
