Love of Jesus is more valuable.
God provided me with my family, and for them I thank God. He has the right to take them from me at any time, too.
God's love is eternal.

The love of Jesus Christ is way more important to me than the love of my family. The love of people can fail. The love of Christ never fails.
The scripture you quoted is tangible in my life. And it also goes along with what Jesus said about "A prophet is not without honor except among his own kinsmen." The reason for that, in my opinion and from what I've learned through the Bible, is the people who know you very well, such as your own kinsmen, know your past and how many sins or mistakes you are guilty of. Therefore, when you come to them prophesying, they, by nature, think you are a fake. They forget that a person is "born again" and "made a new creature" when they receive Christ as Lord and Savior. Peace.

I guess you ask this question because you see an apparent contradiction in the teaching of the bible regarding love.
The fact is that Jesus asked us to Honor our Father and your mother and to love our neighbours as ourselves. (Matthew 19:19)
The truth is that when we say we love Jesus, we must love our family. The bible says that if we love God and hate our brother, we are lying and the truth is not in us.
The issue probably would come to your mind that if our parents ask us to do something against God, what should we do? The answer is not a matter of love. It is a matter of obedience to authority, just as we are to be obedient to the law of the land because the authority of the law of the land is higher than that of our parents. We need not obey our parents if what they ask us to do is wrong but that should not lead us to decrease in love towards them.

Hello!! :o) Interesting question. I would have to say the Love of Jesus over the love of any 'man'. [Family or otherwise] For the Bible tells us that God is Love. Therefore - I would assume - that without God - there would Be no love for [or from] 'man'. [If that makes any sense!!] Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

Jesus is the one who will get us to Heaven, not our familys. We are all Gods children. There is nothing that says we should not love our familys as most of us do. I just love my Lord more. If our familys loved the Lord also, we will all be together in Heaven.

The love of Jesus, because this love causes you to love tenderly His creation, including your family, your country and your all.

The verse you're quoting has to do with the fact that not everyone believes in Christ, even your own kin.
"And ye shall be hated by ALL for my name's sake." -- Jesus

Definitely the love of Jesus. It is unchanging, and my family's love has always been fickle.

The love of God should come first for me then the love of my family. The new commandment of God to us to love others is to love them as God has loved us (John 13:34). When we love God first we receive the agape love from Him to love others. Although the Holy Spirit has imparted the love of God in us (Rom 5:5) we need to experience God's love ourselves before we know how to love others with God's love. When we have experienced God's love we are empowered with God's love in our hearts to love others. We love God because God first loves us (1 John 4:19) . Therefore we first love God to receive HIs love to love others.
