You said "a guy" texted you. Not your love interest or boyfriend. So I didn't get why you were sweating your sister's advice. But I guess you just want to know if you could've kept him interested with lies about you doing something sexy. It wasn't naughty because we ALL take a shower lol. Texting that your wearing nothing but a towel would be naughty because that's information he didn't need to know. Get my drift?
Anyway, the reason he didn't text you back. Who knows? Maybe his battery died or he decided to go to the mall and look up the skirts of women on escalators. Point is nobody knows why, unless you ask him. What if I'm wrong and he did want some text that would make him take a cold shower. Well that's on you I guess.
But if the tables were turned and the guy was watching wrestling and you texted him, "what are you up to?" and he responds "looking at the stars and thinking about you." That line would probably make you melt, but if you knew the truth. He isn't thinking about you. Instead he's watching Hulk Hogan body slam somebody and he's thinking "kick his *** Hogan!". Would you prefer the lie?
Point is your sisters advice is nothing but game. If all you want is someone to sleep with then BS all you want and tell him what he wants to hear. Or be a little more glamorous in your response and let him know that your watching something cool on tv. Example: "what are you up to?", "I'm watching this show about a guy who's trying to break his brother out of prison by tattoing the prison blue prints on his entire body". Sounds more interesting than "just watching tv", huh? Take it from me or next time he doesn't respond you'll have to tell him what kind of panties your wearing.

Sorry for being boring but sending a message - verbal or text - has to be what you want the receiver to understand.
If you trust them and know the message will not be passed around to others then GO 4 IT
The problem is once the message is "out there" especially when it has been written you will have one hell of a job "changing it" if you did not "mean it"
On the plus side it is good to express yourself, just remember "Sultry beats Slapper" every time so make it interesting and like most things, take your time over it

I guess if he text you to see what you were doing maybe he was just seeing where you were? maybe wanted to keep a tab on you or maybe just that.. wanted to know if you were naked or just out the shower. But come on how many people text straight from the shower?? If a guy asks what are you up to.. in my mind I'm trying to figure out what it is your gonna want to do for the day or night. getting ready to go out.. or plan on staying in .. whats the plan?? Now if its your boyfriend then yea be a little naughty but you better be ready for company! lol

Text is something a person does when he does not have anything to say. You can ask a question, disregard the answer and let it drop. But if you actual dial the phone and chat with them, you can have a real conversation.
There are ways to answer rhetorical questions.
What are you up too?
- playing with myself
- thinking of you
- wondering if you will take me out to that nice restaurant next time we go out
- stopping what I was doing so I could text you back.
- wondering what you sound like on the phone since it has been so long since we actually had a conversation.
- I was asleep until you texted..
- I was texting some else, asking what they were doing.
- You first...
- rearranging my sock drawer.
- has something to do with feminine hygiene...
- working on a Dear John letter
- why do you want to know?

I think what you've written is nothing wrong.
Maybe he was drunk and wanted to know if you were availiable, or maybe he was going to invite any one of his friends, and one had called back him instead of texting back and he went out with that person, or maybe he did want to be naughty and hear you say something like that...who knows?!
The point you have to see is that he DIDN'T call you or text you back and that clearly means that HE DOESN'T BOTHER. He was just checkin on his friend, or just was very bored.
Don't make a big fuss. seriously.
If he was actually interested with you, you wouldn't even ask.

9 times out of 10 we could care less about what you are doing as long as it doesn't involve competition.
Sure, you might incite some sort of response by saying you were in the process of doing something naughty but I can almost guarantee it'll be wasted text message charges.
Better idea in my opinion: when he messages asking what you're doing tell him "watching tv, give me a call" and you'll get the sort of response you're looking for.

Why lie - tell the truth - sounds like your sister isn't giving you good advice. If the guy is interested he is going to write back regardless. Guys don't care really what you are doing - all we care about really is that your in the mood - nothing else matters to us.

it all depends to what do you really want the guy to see you as doing, if you are in to him then yeah tell him you got out of the shower and the water drops are dripping from your body while you are you are wearing your clothes or drying your self with a towel, that is plain sexy, if you are not in to him then it is up to you, I would like the first one,,

Being a bit naughty is ALWAYS cool to a guy. :D But being naughty all the time and not letting us play in the playground is cruel. :(
