I remember hearing about Sunday school trips and the arrangements for them when I was too young to go (I started aged 3) and they sounded so romantic, as a coach was going to bear them off somewhere and a coach to me was something from Cinderella... The reality, later on, was much duller, usually consisting of trips to Littlehampton, which seemed an unexciting sort of place. There was, however, a glorious trip to a place called California in England. I have no idea where it was (somewhere in the South East of England), but it was a child's delight, full of fairground rides and fun of all kinds. We never went again, to the intense disappointment of the children, but presumably for all sorts of sound adult reasons.

Huh, I remember as a 15 year old helper, going on a sunday school outing. We (helpers) were supposed to look after the kids in a huge woodland park. However, most of us helpers ended up in the bushes with as many girl helpers as we could manage. Believe me, there's nothing more oversexed and desparate than a prim and proper sunday school girl (assistant) when they're "off the lead".
great trip though. All us lads were exhausted by the end of the day.

Where do you live? My Sunday school never went anywhere except the church hall basement for lessons. they even held the yearly Sunday school picnic on the lawn of the church hall when the church was only a few blocks away from the town park. I really don't think they wanted us to have fun.

Wow, some people have good experiences from Sunday school. I remember sitting in the basement of the church always getting in trouble for asking, “silly questions” like how could God be nice if he let his son died, and I remember being told many times how I was going to find myself in hell, if I didn’t start behaving myself.

I loved sunday school. I remember going on a day out to some old church and drawing a picture of it. we had to do that thing where you out a piece of paper over the head stones in the grave yard and rub a pencil over it (that gave me the creeps) lol

I hated them, because I was forced to go by my parents even though I don't believe in Christianity, but I wasn't considered old enough at that time to make that choice for myself.

Church camp was always the best!! As a teenager the peer pressure was very hard & going to camp really helped us to be stronger & bolder in witnessing to our friends. I loved it every time I went!!
