My small kitten's whiskers seem to have fallen of. It looks as if the kids cut it off with siccors - could there be any other reason apart from the kids?

It was probably the kids. (Check their arms for scratches. Can't imagine the cat sat still for that.) Like someone before me said, check for stumps of the whiskers as well. But if there are no stumps, take that baby to the vet. There could be something esle more serious going on. But unless there is hair falling out elsewhere, I doubt it.

Good luck with it. Would love an update when you figure out what happened.

My cat is a little over a year now and his whiskers fall off all the time. Not lots at a time but I'll find one or two on the couch. Sounds like the kids might have gotten their hands on the kitten.

cat's whiskers do fall off to be renewed. But they DO NOT fall off all at once! So, my guess is that someone took a pair of scissors and had "fun" with kitty. Cats need their whispkers for judging distances and keeping balance. Keep kitty indoors as much as possible until his whiskers grow back - they will you know. And next time, keep the kids away from kitty until they get educated on how to handle and care for him.

It may have lost its whiskers I dont know why, but its most likely the kids and your kitten will get stuck in small places because it needs its whiskers to approximate the width.

I just adopted a kitten that was been abused by the owners kids.
because the parents were not keeping an eye on there kids
when they played with the kitten.
now he has a great home where he is loved.

if you can't look after that little creature, then give
it to some one who can.
