I'm in the last year of high school which means that Prom is getting closer and closer. The problem is that I never had a girlfriend before and I'm beginning to panic about what to do on prom. I consider myself a shy guy so sometimes I have trouble talking to PRETTY girls. Right now I (still) have a crush on this girl who was in my class last year, but this semester we don't have any courses the same so I rarely get to see her. Even when we do meet in the hallway, all i say is "Hi" and smile. I'm pretty mad at myself for not asking her out long time ago. By the way, she has been my crush for the longest. I truly care about her and admire her beauty, intelligence, caringness, and sense of humor.
Anyways, last time I checked she had a boyfriend so should I forget about her and move on?
Back onto the prom, it is a big deal that a guy goes to prom dateless or is it so humiliating that I must lock myself inside the closet and eat cheetoes all night
Please help so I can better myself

I'm in a similar situation in regards to prom dates! I think u should ask your best girlfriend or go in a big group. If the girl you like becomes single then go for it...but dont wait around -there could be someone that you could like right under your nose but your so focused on that girl that you havent seen her. Hey, you never know what's round the corner

well, guys actually go to the Prom w/o a date but even if you do not have one ask your best girl friend to go with you. as for the girl that you like you need to make a decision if she is worth your time and find out if she is dating, has a bf or has a or does not have a date to the Prom! see her in the hallway and start a small conversation. do not ask her yet about Prom!if you saw her talking with a guy be like" So is that your bf?IS he going with you to the Prom?" but casually! if she says yes, move on. if she says no and or that she has no date for the PROM there is your big chance to ask her out-ask her to Prom within 2weeks tops, maybe less if you make conversation with her everytime or as much as you can,whenever you see her! you are afraid of rejection, her rejection that is in case she has a date. have been there and done that in 2003-when i graduated-and i wanted to ask this guy to the Prom but like you it took me forever and he asked someone else! so, you like her and dont know what to do...my best suggestion: find out who she is going to the Prom with or if she is available, then if available ask her...in the meantime keep your eyes opened for another girl or girls who do not have dates in case she turns you down. good luck, and i hope everything works out how you want it to!

Humiliating to not go to prom with a date. Period.
Forget about her, she's taken. For prom ask the hottest girl you know, be it a girl you hardly speak to or someone you have for class. And/or ask the hottest girl your friends know. You'll look cool.
Prom is no big deal. College will be a lot better.
Oh yeah, I read your details. Forget it. Taken. Should have, could haves. Let that be a lesson. Dont wait too long.
