If the man was fatally hit, there's no saving him. But I'd save myself by not leaving the scene of the accident because I'd need to be a witness for the cab driver. If the cab driver insisted on leaving, I'd get out of the cab, and call the police. If mother is on her deathbed, I think she'd be more comforted knowing I wasn't going to prison for leaving the scene of an accident. Peace.

you do the right thing, you stop & call the police. You said the man was hit fatally, but then you said save the old man. So absolutely you try to save the man. Life is very important, your Mom is in a safe place. You couldn't leave a person alone & dying. You would have to do the right thing.

Save the man. Your mother is in the care of the doctors, the daughters can get married without their father's present, but the old man's life depends on you stopping.

Save the man. I assume there is nothing I could do for my mother apart from giving her the comfort of my presence. Whoever is with my mother could help her in any way that I could. The old man could possibly be saved. I would go to my mother as soon as the man was in the hands of professionals.

I would stop and help the old man and hopefully keep him alive until the paramedics come. My mother would do the same thing so i know she would totally understand.

Bring the old man with you asuming that you mother is in hoispital. Then you can do two great deeds for other people and one good thing for your loved ones. Karma boost.

Save the old man. Seems it's not going to matter how fast you can get to your mother, when it's her time to go she's going to go if you are there are not! It's not up to you when she will pass it's all up to God!!
