Im going to Shang hai in 2 weeks, and I'd love to read my bible while im there, but does anyone know for sure if I am allowed to have one there or not?

You are allowed to Bring your scriptures with you. I have gone a few times, and never had any problem. As long as it is for your personal use, and you are not trying to proselyte (preach) to local Chinese people there will be no problems

I went to China 5 years ago, and didn't have any trouble taking my Bible. I spoke with a missionary while I was there, and she said that it's really difficult to find Bible study materials in China now, but there's no problem bringing a Bible with you.

yes you can have a bible in china. just don't go and stand on a corner and preach religion. that could result in being removed from the corner. but there isn't someone watching over your shoulder keeping track of what you read.

If you take one with you , you may lose it in customs. This is not that common however . Just don't go around preaching and such and they will most likely overlook it . If you want to be sure to have it air mail it to yourself at your hotel .

Yes you can bring it, but like other posters said, don't go preaching your beliefs in public or try to convert people, just be respectful of people's beliefs, don't proselytise and you will be fine.

Iam sure you can...even though I am not a chinese myself, but I know many chinese friends who are of christian faith. To the best of my knowledge, havent heard anything regd this ever before. Go and chill.
