Lolz simple mathematics

lets say her age is X so after 2 yrs she will be X+2 and 5 yrs ago her age was X-5 now she says in 2 yrs she will be twice as old as she was 5 yrs ago

so the equation will be X+2= 2(X-5)
X+2= 2X -10
so X =12
her age is 12 yrs

I agree with you cheesewel I think 8, although it could be almost any age, because you can double any number and take 2, the five years ago bit is irrelivant isn't it? we don't know how old she was before 5 years ago.
Am I just being really thick. I am confused now.
