at the very least an hour a day, maybe more if you don't have a fenced in yard

At least 1-2 hours depending if it is on a lead or off, I am lucky in as much as I live on a farm so at the moment my dogs get 1/2 an hour in the dark in the morning off lead around 2 or 3 large fields they get about 1/2hr at lunchtime again off lead and again late afternoon for about 1-1 & 1/2 hours some on lead to incorporate a bit of training (this should be on-going) and finishing with a good run off lead again, I am very lucky as we live 2 mins walk from 100's of acres of common land so not much road walking. They also have constant access to a large garden during the day.

It depends on the age of the dog and what else happens during his day, but assuming that you are expecting him to sleep and laze around for the rest of the day, and he is fit and healthy, he will need 2 hours exercise a day. This should be a mixture of free running in a safe environment and hard surface walking to keep his nails trim.
I would recommend an hour walk at either end of the day. Vary your route to keep him interested and take toys out with you to play games to make sure he covers more ground than you fetching and chasing stuff.

Depends on what age and condition they are. I have 2 german shepherds - one female who is 10 yr old - she only walks for about 1/2 hour per day as her hips arent so good. Then I have a 3 yr old male - nutty as a fruitcake and hyper - he needs at least an hours walk and also I go and play ball games in the garden a few times during the day. If they dont get walked enough they go a bit crazy. Bot have access to the garden at all times through a huge dog flap I had fitted in the door xxxx

I walk my two for 2 hours in the morning before work and ensure to do it all weather.

Fortunately I have a friend who takes them from me until I get home after work.

Evening time a walk is just over the 2 hours before going home to eat.

These dogs require to be stimulated and are good learners so training is well worth the time and effort, left to become bored can leave you with a dog that might turn nasty and it is not the dogs fault.

I am a strong believer in you need to give up a lot of time and energy for any animal and most of all give them love.

I think it depends on your own dog but i go out for at least 2 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour walk with mine. Also to keep her stimulated because she can get bored i do a little bit of training with her. GSD are very receptive to training and love it!! She loves to track and this is great physical and mental exercise, but other things like heel work, stays and retrieves are also good.

Alsatians are large active dogs. I'd take it out for a 30 min walk in the morning & 30 mins in the afternoon/evening.

You shouldn't, you should allow it to RUN for at least 10 minutes twice a day and then fast walk for another twice. They are ennergetic dogs which need lots of exersize.
