I'm a Believer and do feel that the churches rake in the money

have seen where alot of the members there have problems and seem to get no help
mind you this does not happen at ALL churches, but the vast majority
what if the preachers had to go back to the old days where the members gave them a chicken as payment, but they still had to work everyday like the rest of us

If Jesus had fed 5,000 with 5 bread and 2 fishes, then is it necessary to have Bank Accounts for the priests? Jesus told His disciples to follow him and now I get confused whether they follow Jesus Christ or they follow money! Jesus Christ has never been thought that his life will be used for religious business. Definitely it is a positive think to be capped on how much money religious leaders can make annually, but I am worried because it will be unsuccessful.

They should be capped if they are using faith to turn a profit for themselves but if the money is being used to fund charitable projects and help those in need then they simply have to make the records of what they are doing with the profits more transparent Most religous organisations do put the money to good use and all of them should not suffer because some are using their position to manipulate people.

If those religious people were true believers in God then they wouldn't need an income because they claim that God provides them with everything.

How come they need the American people to provide them with an income when they say God will provide them with sustenance?

Even the prophets such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus (Peace be upon them) did not committ such extravagance.

Note: No bashing here. I answered this question as honestly as possible and asked a sensible counter-question.

I think that they should become monks and really know what it means to serve before they try to tell others what to think. The fact that they make so much money is only proof that they are deceivers. So, I think they should all be forced to lose everything. They should be able to survive for a few months on body fat.

They can do as they please. But as to their assertion that it's ok to be rich and Christian, Jesus did say, "It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to gain entrance into heaven."

Absolutely, and the individuals should be taxed on their income, not the church itself, but the individual. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to turn on PTL and send my monthly donation.
