My cat was healthy, happy cat. No health problems I heard her crying one night and we found her dead under the porch. I think someone poisoned her.

I am sad for you this happened. Someone may not have tried to poison her, though. It may have lapped up anti-freeze somewhere. Anti-freeze tastes good to cats and they will drink it. Check under your car and make sure that your own anti-freeze is not leaking. But the cat could have drunk it next door, or anywhere. It's lethal unless the sick cat is discovered in time and taken to a vet. A kitty who drinks antifreeze becomes tired and lethargic and eventually the body temperature lowers until it's too late. It can be hard to spot since cats sleep a lot anyway. My sister lost her cat that way while I was visiting her. The cat had been sleeping in the bathroom and started moaning and crying. He felt too cold, so we took him to the vet. Though the vet thought he could save him, the cat died. It was sad, and I feel for your loss too.

I've had sad situations with my own cats and kittens over the years, too. So mine have all been indoors-only for the last twenty years or so. They stay healthier and generally live longer.

Before you cross irrational and poison the ones cats, can I present a few extra wise ideas? (a million) Call your regional animal manage officer. Perhaps they are able to prefer up the cats and uncover out who they belong to, and get them from your hair, so that you can talk. (two) Call your regional animal refuge and ask for ideas how you can manage this messy predicament...I do not consider there is a prohibit to how some distance they're going to come if it prevents animals from being harmed. Perhaps they're strays or ferals that might be "rehabilitated" or if all else fails humanely euthanized...poisoning isn't the reply. You cannot be up to now out within the boonies that NOBODY will support this crisis.

This is exactly why I have indoor only cats. It's really sad & sick that there's people out there who think it's ok to kill another person's pet but their precious plants or something are more important to them than your beloved pet so they decide to poison them. It's also possible that your kitty got into some snail pellets or mouse poison or anything. Life is too unpredictable for a cat outside & I have seen so much heartache for people who have had cats hit by cars, attacked by dogs, tortured by people or eaten by wild animals.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

You can take the cat to the Vet and they can do a blood test and find out if it was poisoned. If someone poisoned your cat they are breaking a law and should be sent to jail for it. Good luck with catching them.

That is just too sad and I am so sorry that your cat died that way. If you need closure on what exactly happened to your cat, why not ask the vet to do an autopsy? They will get blood or tissue samples and analyse chemical contents and check for known poisons.

Oh i am so sorry to hear that. Cats can certainly be poisoned. I have heard this way to many times. If you have other kitties I would now keep them indoors. If it were one or my 7 kitties I would take it to the vet to see how it really died. I am sorry for your loss.

I am terribly sorry that your cat was poisoned - I hope you can move on from your grief. Unfortunately, cats don't recognise all human substances, and can be easily tricked into eating poisonous things.
