YES- . it's just like any sweetener, not really that great for you. It's like a worse kind of sugar that sits in your body storing fat. It's something better avoided if possible. As long as you're not eating(or drinkint it, like sodas) it all the time, than it could cause obesity or diabetes.

It's same as sugar. No refined sugar is good for you, especially if you have a tendency toward diabetes or have diabetes in your family. Use natural sweeteners in small amounts such as non-heated local honey or for cooking, soak raisins in milk and use the milk as the liquid or sweetner for the recipe.
