I fed my cat cheese ( I know, I know, bad idea!) Well, now that I know I made a mistake, I will never do it again. But, now, he has the shits! What do I do? It started a few days ago, and I'm concerned! He will be visiting the vet soon, he's due for his neutering. But for now, are there any at home remedies that I can do for him? Any tips or advice? please?

Never give a cat pepto, it has tylenol in it, but the generic name, this can be deadly to cats. Really get the advice from a phone call to the vet. Vet will not operate if the cat is sick. A few days of diarrea is something serious, could be a bacterial infection from a toy. example, a rubber string from a toy ar rubberband. Good Luck to you.

Cheese or any dairy products is not to good for your cat. The dairy curdles in their stomach from jumping around all day. Do you feed him any cat food with fish? I had the same problem with my cat a few months ago and the vet told me to stop feeding her fish because in some kittens it causes pain which can result in diarrhea and uncontrolable urinating. She said because it gets so painful they wont go in the litter box either they will just go where ever to try a stop the pain. So maybe try to change his diet.

give him like 2cc of pepto bismal. 3 times a day

But if it has been going on for days now, get him to the vet today. Vomiting or diarrhea lasting for more than 24 hrs is a sign that a vet visit is needed.

If it's been going on for more than a day, he needs to see the vet immediately! He's probably dehydrated by now, and he's obviously very sick. Take him to the vet first thing in the morning, this isn't something that can wait longer than it already has.

They are all correct, go to a vet.

For an immediate solution (this has worked with dogs, so why not cats): Gatorade. Gatorade has pectin, the same substance found in Jello gelatin that gels it together. This will help to solidify the stool for the time being.

Change the brand of food and the amount you feed that at one time and the number of times a day that you feed the cat. I don't think that it is the cheese doing it because we give all 4 of our cats cheese and they dont go through this. What eles have you feed him of human kind of foods?

I'm not an expert but if is he a kitten stop the dairy products, canned food and feed him some dry food for kittens and see if it goes away. call the vet and ask cuz they may not want to operate if he's sick.
