Your mom is right push ups help. The muscle that you need to work on is the serratus anterior. It has the responsibility to "hold down your scapula" so that you can perform lifting activities. This muscle is strengthened at end ranges during push ups. Type the name of the muscle in your search engine and it will explain more about this and also give graphic examples of exercises. A visit to your local physical therapist may prove the best way to solve your problem.

Have you been screened for scoliosis? Scoliosis is a horizontal curvature of the spine and can cause one scapula (shoulder blade) to protrude more than the other. It is very treatable if this is the problem. The physician will often prescribe exercises to help stengthen your back and lessen the degree of curvature. You could also see a chiropractor to make sure you have your spine and other joints in proper alignment.

Go to walgreen and by a back and shoulder warm/cold buddy pack and/or use ice as it could be swallow and need put back into place. Sometime's if you use ice it will go down then you move and it goes pop right back where it came from just numb it with ice and then use heat too.

It couldbe mild scoliosis, go talk to your doctor about it, and possibly about a diet that will help you put on a few pounds so you can build up muscle.
